Splurge or Save: Chain Link Sandals

What do you think - would you go for this Guiseppe Zanotti splurge for $760.75 (they also come in an edgy stiletto) or a nearly identical pair from Guess for $89? While I do prefer the front strap on the Zanottis, I don't love it enough to spend that much, and the pair from Guess would be good enough for me. ;)

G.L.A.M.'s 2013 Summer Fashion Event

G.L.A.M.
There are tons of reasons you should come out to next Thursday's Giving Labels a Meaning fashion event, but the most important one is the fact that you can shop local DC designers while helping to fight child abuse (100% of all profits from the event will be donated to Safe Shores, a children's advocacy group in DC).
As if that isn't reason enough, there will also be:
- An open bar
- Treats
- Beats by DJ MIM
- A fashion presentation
- Raffle prizes from: Hobo | The Andi Brand | Love Cortnie | Rachel Mulherin | Fornash
Local pop-up shops featured will be: Carnelian Boutique | Bishop Boutique | Turquoise | Enise |  Drabo Gallery | Runway on Wheels | The Andi Brand

Top 5 Photo Apps for the iPhone

I often get questions about how I edit my Instagram photos, so I wanted to share with you my top 5 go-to photo apps for the iPhone! All of these are under $1.00 and most also allow you to share your edited photo to Instagram, Twitter, etc., right from the app - super convenient. So without further ado...

1. Snapseed (Free): I use this app constantly (even more than Instagram). I'm not a huge fan of the filters that other apps offer (including Instagram) and rarely use them, but I do like to make light edits to my photos (straightening horizon lines, cropping, tweaking the brightness and saturation), and Snapseed allows me to do just that.

2. Diptic ($0.99): This app is great for creating collages. There are all kinds of layouts to choose from, plus you have control over everything from border width to the aspect ratios of the collage.

3. Over ($0.99): This app is great for adding text to your images. It doesn't have a ton of bells and whistles, but it doesn't need to, in my opinion. You have control over the font, size, color and placement of the text, which is good enough for me!

4. Big Lens ($0.99): This app helps you fake depth of field/aperture. Since iPhone cameras don't have f-stops, achieving a really shallow depth of field isn't possible. Big Lens lets you create your own blur and you can get pretty advanced with it. It's not as good as the real thing, but it's close enough!

5. Afterlight ($0.99): This app includes filters and other editing tools, but I use it specifically for the frames. There are a ton of options, including letters - see below!
